Well, most people probably don't know this, but you need to strengthen your joints. One of my friends was actually like, "Well, you don't really need to strengthen your joints..." when I showed him some joint exercises.
I said to him, "Well, where are most injuries?" Yep. That's right. In your joints! I'm pretty sure that day I was showing him wrist exercises.
Training your muscles and bones is great, but it's only a part of punching. You still need to take into account that your tendons need to be strong too.
A few exercises I like are just rotating my wrists around, wrist push-ups (try these against a wall first), and going slowly up and down with my arms stretched out in front of me.
